Sephora Play! July ’16 Review

I have been getting the Sephora Play! box for 3 months now, and I have to say I am OBSESSED!! In the beginning there were a lot of people complaining about the waitlist, but I definitely think it was worth it because all of the boxes have been great so far, and the July Play! box is no exception! I love surprises and it’s so much fun knowing this is coming at the beginning of every month!  Now that I’ve had a chance to try everything in my July Sephora Play! box I’m ready to share my thoughts.

Sephora Play July 2016 Review

Included in this months box:

Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer: I already have and love this bronzer, so I was excited to get a small version of it. I have a pretty light hand when it comes to bronzer so this will be a perfect travel size for me and it’ll last quite a long time!! I love how blendable it is, and the color works for me even when I’m at my palest. Plus, it smells like chocolate, which is pretty awesome!

beautyblender blotterazzi: I was excited to see this was coming in my Play! box because it’s something I wanted to try, but knew I would never actually buy. I have oily skin, plus I live in Florida, so my face can be a bit of a mess by the end of the day. Verdict? Pretty disappointing. I’ll keep it in my purse because it does help a teensy bit and might be nice to have on hand, but I wouldn’t spend money on it.

Ouai Wave Spray: I had never heard of this brand, and had it not been for my Play! box I probably never would have come across this brand. I’m so glad it came in my box though because I love it!! Reviews on the smell are mixed, but I really enjoy the smell. I also love how it gives my hair a bit of texture and body, but it feels like I don’t have anything on my stickiness or anything to speak of! I might have to buy this one once I use up the generous sample size!

Nest Citrine: I thought this was a nice daytime fragrance. It’s a nice floral with just enough citrus to keep it from being old lady-ish. Main downside for me has been that it doesn’t stay on my skin long enough, but I’ll enjoy the sample while it lasts!

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay: Love how much this face wash lathers and how clean it leaves my skin! Perfect for my oily skin!

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer: I love smashbox primers, but this one just felt too heavy for me.Seems to work well, but I think I’ll have to save it for winter.

All in all, I thought this was a great month, with a chance to try some things I’ve never heard of as well as some more popular ones. I can’t wait to see what’s coming in August!

Do you receive a Sephora Play! Box? I would love to hear others feedback!

Beauty Favorites

Until a few months ago, I NEVER changed or got creative with my beauty routine. I never really thought to try new things when I ran out of something, since I was pretty much happy with my routine. All of this has changed in the last few months, and I find myself constantly wanting to try new things and switch up my look more often. I was given a couple Ulta gift cards for my Birthday and Christmas (which probably fueled the new-found obsession a bit..) and have taken the time to try new things and invest in a couple things I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. I like to read a lot of reviews before trying anythings make-up wise, and wanted to share some of my favorite things I have found!
Julep Boho Glam Lengthening Mascara: This was included in my New Years mystery box and I’ve been loving it! They also offer a volumizing mascara, but they hit the mark perfectly for me because I  love LONG lashes, plus I love the fact that it’s brown, which I really prefer for daily wear and work.  I haven’t decided if I will re-purchase when I’m out, but I’m really liking it for now!
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze: This stuff is wonderfulllllll! Depending on my mood I like to wear this either as an eye shadow base, or if I need to look pulled together quickly, I’ll use it alone with a bit of eyeliner and mascara. Either way you use it, this stuff stays put! I love that I can wear it during an 8 hour shift at work and my eye shadow still looks good when I get home! It comes in a decent number of colors, but this one was definitely the most appealing to me, and the color works seamlessly with my Naked2 palette! I’ve also heard that their spring collection will have a neutral beige which I can’t wait to try out!
Benefit Boi-ing: I never used to use under-eye concealer but now that I’ve tried it, there’s no going back!! I’ve noticed that without it I look much more tired, even when I’m well rested. I use shade 02 of this one, which is a really good match for me and I like that it lasts all day as well. My only problem with this is that it does crease on me sometimes, so I might have to venture out and try something new when it’s gone. Do you have an under-eye concealer that you love and recommend??

Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter: Yet another product that I never used before and love! It’s very fine milled so a little goes a long way, plus it comes with a TON of product so this stuff will last a longggg time. It’s also perfect for highlighting my brow bone and the inside corners of my eyes, making it a versatile addition to my make-up bag!
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette: I was scared away from this palette for quite awhile because of the hefty price tag of $50, but now that I have it and LOVE it, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. I chose this over the original Naked palette after reading that this one was better for cool skintones (which I most definitely am!). All of the colors work great for my skintone, and I love that there are SO many different looks you can do with this, from understated to glam! This has become an everyday staple for me!
Revlon Colorstay: I never thought I would stray from my beloved Clinique foundation, but when I want something that will last me all day and still look great, then I definitely turn to this! It’s a little heavy, which I don’t love for everyday, but it’s great for long days or when I want to look photo ready anytime!
Real Techniques Stippling and Buffing Brush: All of the Real Techniques brushes are fabulous, but these two definitely get the most use in my collection! I don’t know how I went so long without a stippling brush, but I LOVE using it for foundation because it really makes my skin look flawless!
Macadamia Healing Oil Spray: I love how soft and smooth this makes my hair, plus it’s one of the few things that doesn’t weigh it down or look greasy!
Do you switch up your makeup routine often, or do you prefer to stick with what you know really works for you?

Do you use any of these products as well or have anything you really love that I should try next?
